The best recommendations don't come from a computer. They come from people you know. Flickmate lets you rate movies and shows, share ratings and watchlists with your inner circle, and follow people whose taste you trust, so you always know exactly what to watch next. No more fake reviews, just the movies and shows people actually love. RATE WHAT YOU WATCH Give any movie or show a score and keep a record of what you have seen and what you thought. SHARE WITH YOUR CIRCLES Create private circles for friends and family, and see what everyone is watching and rating in one feed. FOLLOW PEOPLE YOU TRUST Go public if you want to, and let others follow your taste. Browse Discover to find people to follow, and see their ratings at the top of Circles. You choose who follows you, and you can go back to private any time. KEEP A WATCHLIST Save movies and shows for later, so the next watch is always one tap away. YOU STAY IN CONTROL Keep your profile private if you prefer, and block or report anyone from their profile.

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Flick at weekly against SDM FLIX's every 60 months. SDM FLIX's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for SDM FLIX against 5.0 for Flick. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SDM FLIX has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
SDM FLIX ships an update every 60 months, Flick weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
