Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: 8Bit Racing at 4.3 against Draftmaster 2's 3.8. 8Bit Racing also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). Draftmaster 2's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (630 vs 16). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Draftmaster 2 sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and 8Bit Racing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

8Bit Racing holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Draftmaster 2 has 630 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Draftmaster 2's written reviews are positive against 63% of 8Bit Racing's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Draftmaster 2 ships an update monthly, 8Bit Racing every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
