Verdict
The clearest difference is chart position: X Icon Changer at #185 against WowKit's unranked. X Icon Changer also leads on ratings volume (6.1K vs 1.6K). WowKit's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. X Icon Changer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and WowKit sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
X Icon Changer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6.1K and 1.6K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of X Icon Changer's written reviews are positive against 74% of WowKit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
X Icon Changer ships an update every 3 weeks, WowKit every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
