Ein kurzes Vibrieren des Smartphones, der Busfahrer blickt auf das Display und sieht seinen nächsten geplanten Einsatz. Mit einem Klick kann er ihn bestätigen und so der Disposition im Betrieb Rückmeldung geben. Diese vereinfachte Kommunikation begleitet den Fahrer und die Disposition durch sämtliche Schritte des Einsatzes. Tritt der Fahrer seinen Dienst an und macht sich auf den Weg zum Kunden, informiert er den Disponenten darüber ebenso wie über Fahrtbeginn und Fahrtende. Ganz neu bei dieser Version der App ist ihr Offline-Modus. Falls sich der Fahrer in einem Funkloch befindet, wird die genaue Position dennoch erfasst und in das System eingespielt, sobald er wieder eine Netzverbindung hat. Das ist ein entscheidender Vorteil, der Zeit und Arbeit spart. Auch für die Rückerfassung eignet sich die FIS-App perfekt. Der Fahrer kann damit sein Fahrtenbuch führen und die gefahrenen Kilometer eintragen – Daten, die später die Grundlage für die Abrechnung bilden und im Modul Anmietverkehr sowie in den Touristik-Programmen von RATIOWw und TouPac weiterverarbeitet werden können. Eine weitere Funktion der FIS-App ist der Chat, mit dem sich Fahrer und Disponent auf dem Laufenden halten können. Der Chat kann wie ein Notizbuch genutzt werden, denn für jede Fahrt gibt es einen eigenen Chatraum. Das heißt, dass man eventuelle Vorkommnisse im Nachhinein sofort wiederfindet und dokumentieren kann. Der Fahrer hat die Möglichkeit, die Anzeige der Einsatzliste und des Chats seinen Wünschen anzupassen. So kann er sich beispielsweise nur die tagesaktuellen Einsätze und Nachrichten anzeigen und die anderen ausgeblendet lassen.
