About

Hecate Capture

Features

Hecate captures physical objects against a PROFILE — a configurable flow of scans and fields — places them on the map, and streams each record over MQTT to the broker you choose. Nothing about your domain is hard-coded: change the profile and the same app serves forklifts, fire extinguishers, network sockets or archaeological finds. No new build, no new app. THE ONLY THING YOU NEED IS AN MQTT BROKER Hecate requires no backend system. The one network dependency is the MQTT broker you already control — on site or in the cloud. No developer server, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking. Your data never touches anyone else's infrastructure. NOT A SILO You decide which profiles you create and what role captured assets play in your operation. Everything arrives at your broker in one uniform, self-describing envelope — so any downstream system you choose (dashboard, historian, ERP bridge, Unified Namespace) can subscribe and use the data. The app ends at the broker; the meaning is yours. CAPTURE, VALIDATED AT THE SOURCE • Scan barcodes and QR codes with the camera, or from a photo • Profile-defined fields with validation at capture time — bad data never leaves the device • Every record carries its GPS position • Notes and structured values per profile step WORKS OFFLINE A durable outbox stores captured assets and drains automatically on reconnect. A "sent" ping (optional) confirms broker delivery. BUILT FOR THE FIELD Guided first-run journey, per-screen tips, QR-based broker provisioning (the QR never contains a password — credentials live only in the device Keychain), TLS to the broker, structured on-device logs. A companion app shows your assets arriving live: Hecate Viewer — one app for iPhone and iPad. SUBSCRIPTION (OPTIONAL) Hecate Capture Pro lifts the free-tier quantity limits — unlimited captures per day, several broker configurations, profiles with more than five steps. It is an auto-renewable subscription, offered monthly or yearly and billed to your Apple account. It renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends; you manage or cancel it in your Apple account settings. The free tier never expires. Should this project end, we will say so, stop selling new subscriptions and let running ones expire — your data stays on your own broker.
