Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Imgpls at free against Simplified Notes's paid. Imgpls also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 27.0). Simplified Notes's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
