Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Knaukey at 100% against Farcaster's 50%. Knaukey also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 15.1). Farcaster's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Farcaster sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Knaukey asks for nothing beyond the download.
Farcaster holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Farcaster has 1.1K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Knaukey's written reviews are positive against 50% of Farcaster's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Knaukey ships an update every 4 months, Farcaster every 5 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
