Amigo Browser is a minimalistic, lightweight and secure browser for your device. We decided to rethink modern browsers, which are filled with everything possible: news, weather, exchange rates and much more. It seems to us that a modern person needs to abstract from everything unnecessary, especially since there are separate applications for this! Our browser is simple, it only has one tab and that's it - that's enough for surfing the net! This will save you from a dozen unclosed pages and will not take up the memory of your device. To make the pages open even faster, we have implemented an ad blocker that is constantly updated. Thanks to it, you will save megabytes of traffic, and sites will look cleaner and better. To make you feel more secure, we have implemented script and tracking blockers. With their help, you can remain anonymous while surfing the Internet. No browsing history. If you worry about your browsing history or constantly clear it, then with Amigo you don't have to do it again. We simply have no history of your views and no pitfalls. Some of the functionality of the application is offered by subscription, it is issued on a voluntary basis. Subscription bills are charged to your AppleID account. Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can always manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your App Store account settings.  Terms Of Use: https://amigo-browser.com/terms-of-use Privacy Policy: https://amigo-browser.com/privacy-policy

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Private Browser at 4.5 against Amigo Browser's 3.4. Private Browser also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 15 months) and device support (4 vs 2). Amigo Browser's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 68%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Amigo Browser sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Private Browser sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Private Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 80 and 231 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Amigo Browser's written reviews are positive against 68% of Private Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Amigo Browser ships an update every 15 months, Private Browser weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
