Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Outtakes at Free against Spatialify's $2.99. Outtakes also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.0). Spatialify's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and chart position (#44 vs unranked). On review sentiment, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Outtakes is free to download; Spatialify costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Outtakes holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spatialify has 63 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Outtakes's written reviews are positive against 67% of Spatialify's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 20, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
