Boost speaking and listening skills across the curriculum with Clicker Talk, designed for students of all abilities. Continuously developed by Crick Software for over 25 years, the Clicker product range is used in schools around the world. DEVELOP VOCABULARY AND BUILD CONFIDENCE Clicker Talk gives children the opportunity to explore new vocabulary, demonstrate their knowledge and rehearse their ideas for writing. It’s particularly effective for those who struggle to express themselves in written form, and for English language learners. Clicker Talk is also a great way for teachers to collect evidence of students’ speaking and listening attainment. BOOST CORE LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE Listen and Say activities enable younger learners and emergent English speakers to familiarise themselves with core vocabulary. On each page, children click on the picture to listen to the word or phrase and then record, rerecording as many times as they like. All recordings are collated for review once all pages are completed. OFFER ALTERNATIVE PATHS TO SUCCESS Many children in our classrooms have great ideas and knowledge but struggle to express these in their writing. Talk About activities help to break down barriers to literacy and offer children an alternative way to demonstrate their understanding. The activities provide teachers with a valuable record of children’s comprehension of key topics and concepts. CREATE A CLASSROOM OF STORYTELLERS Tell the Story activities break storytelling down into manageable steps, helping children to practice and internalise story patterns and language and to understand narrative ‘building blocks’. These activities are perfect for exploring a sequence of events or the steps of a process, such as making a sandwich or the life cycle of a plant. ACCESS HUNDREDS OF READY-MADE ACTIVITIES Choose from a huge selection of activities on LearningGrids, our online library accessed from within the app. Activities cover a wide variety of curriculum topics across different levels. Or create your own in seconds using the included curriculum picture library or any photos. """‘Stand Tall’ is a new app designed to dodge those tricky money situations – like getting to the end of the week and finding there’s no cash left for dinner. The game has been developed by IHC in New Zealand, and organisation who will advocate for the rights, inclusion and welfare of all people with intellectual disabilities and support them to live satisfying lives in the community. Stand Tall is being developed to make handling money easier for young people with disabilities who want to be independent. The game simulates daily live living in a flat with 4 flatmates. The player has to manoeuvre real-world scenarios which may affect their budget, but could also affect their well-being. For instance living on junk food will eventually affect the players health. Each game level introduces new financial concepts as well as challenges typical for living in a flat. Games are a safe way of learning and any mistakes only have consequences in the game and of course not in real life. The scenarios provide a good snapshot of what the player may still need to learn or where the player is confident. The game is supported by voice over and is rolled out as an ongoing story where the player always has 3 options to choose from. Each level has quests, which includes finding a job, learning to drive a car, finding new flatmates, etc. Stand Tall has been developed with user and the community participating in workshops to ensure users will get maximum benefit from playing the game. This game has • NO in-game monetisation • NO in-app advertising • NO 3rd party data mining Stand Tall was developed to benefit anyone who struggles to live independently and has provided great learning results for young people with Down Syndrome, Autism, Aspergers and will the team believes any young person will benefit from playing the game if they are planning to move out soon.
