READ FOR FREE • Import supported files with the system file picker, Finder/iTunes File Sharing, the local-network uploader or WebDAV. • Organize comics into collections and sort them by name, date or reading status. • Zoom into artwork and keep each library comic's read status and current page. • Recognize text on the current page on your device, or use embedded PDF text when available. Select, copy and share the result. Recognition quality varies with language, scan quality and lettering. MADE FOR IPHONE DUO Open the screen for more artwork, then continue on the outer display. Your page and relative zoom stay with you as the display changes. Pages, covers and controls adapt around the active fold. Duo support is free. Sync stays off until you turn it on and uses your personal iCloud Drive storage. Sufficient storage and an internet connection are required. Keep ComicReader open until imports finish. • Comic Search & Quotes builds a persistent text index for the current library comic, searches indexed pages and saves editable quotes linked to their source page. • Reading Lists & Smart Queues arrange a reading order without moving files and gather Continue Reading, Unread and Read Again. • Named Page Bookmarks return to memorable pages. • Image Filters provide Clear Ink, Grayscale and Warm Paper display options without changing the original file. ComicReader Plus is one non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. The App Store shows your local price before purchase. Restore Purchases is available on iPhone, iPad and Mac with the same Apple Account. Existing Plus owners keep access to the current Plus tools. Search covers the current library comic, not the whole library. Search indexes, quotes, lists and bookmarks stay on each device and are not included in iCloud sync. Saved quotes remain readable and shareable if Plus is no longer active. ComicReader is based on ComicFlow and is open source under GPL v3. Power of the Word is a calm, elegant way to read and reflect on Bahá’í quotes. Browse beautifully typeset passages, favorite what you love, search across the full collection, and keep a quote on your Home Screen widget. The app respects your device theme (Light/Dark), offers a gentle auto-rotation timer with a countdown, and lets you pause any time. Why this app? Reading a single, well-presented quote can shift the atmosphere of a day. Power of the Word focuses on clarity and reverence—no clutter, no distractions—just the Words. What’s inside Home * Randomized reading: See a beautifully laid-out quote with author attribution. * Auto-rotation with countdown: Choose 15s, 30s, 1m, or Off; the app advances like you tapped Next, so Back still works. * Pause/Resume: Stop rotation when you want to linger; resume any time. * Keep on widget: Pin the current quote to your widget. * Share: Send a quote to friends with one tap. * Favorite: Save it instantly for later. Favorites * Your personal collection: All your hearts, neatly organized as cards. * One-tap actions: View, unfavorite, or share any saved quote. * Works offline: Favorites live on your device. Search * Fuzzy search: Quickly find quotes by phrase, word, or author—typos welcome. * Focused reading view: Open any result into a clean, distraction-free screen with Favorite and Share. Settings * Theme: System, Light, or Dark. The app follows your device by default. * Auto-rotation speed: 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, or None. * Language (coming soon): Placeholder for future multilingual support. Widgets Widget (Home Screen) * Shows the current quote in a dark, legible style. * Deep link: Tapping the widget opens the app to the exact same quote. * Pin current quote: From Home, tap Keep on widget to pin it for a while. Tip: You control in-app rotation (and the countdown) from Settings. Pinning to the widget is a separate, simple action from the Home screen. Design & accessibility * Readable typography and balanced spacing for long or short quotes. * High contrast palettes in both Light and Dark modes. * Safe Area and large touch targets for comfortable one-hand use. * No account required—open and read. Data & privacy * No sign-in, no analytics, no tracking. * Favorites, theme, and settings are stored locally on your device. * The app reads your system theme preference to match Light/Dark (you can override it in Settings). Source & permissions * Quotes are sourced from BahaiQuotes.com and used with consent. * This app is an independent project offered with respect and care.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Power of the Word at 5.0 against ComicReader's 3.5. Power of the Word also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). ComicReader's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 weeks) and ratings volume (51 vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.
