Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: RailControl Pro at 3.3 against DCC's 2.3. DCC's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 70%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RailControl Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per year and DCC sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
RailControl Pro holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of RailControl Pro's written reviews are positive against 100% of DCC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
RailControl Pro ships an update fortnightly, DCC every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
