El Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos tiene como misión dar a conocer las violaciones a los Derechos Humanos cometidas por el Estado de Chile durante la dictadura civil militar entre el 11 de septiembre de 1973 y el 10 de marzo de 1990; dignificar a las víctimas y a sus familias; y promover la reflexión sobre la importancia de los valores democráticos, el respeto y la tolerancia para que estos hechos nunca más se repitan.
