Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EmpireClock at none against Spiffy Clock's 1. EmpireClock also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 14 months) and iOS requirement (18.5 vs 26.0). Spiffy Clock's advantage is ratings volume (12 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Spiffy Clock against 5.0 for EmpireClock.
