Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is update cadence: Omniscient at every 2 days against UGScan's fortnightly. Omniscient also leads on review sentiment (92% vs 70%) and ratings volume (78 vs 19). UGScan's advantage is device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Omniscient sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and UGScan sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

UGScan holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 78 and 19 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Omniscient's written reviews are positive against 70% of UGScan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Omniscient ships an update every 2 days, UGScan fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 7, 2026.
