Welcome to the Mumble Melody App, and thank you for your interest in stuttering research and modulated auditory feedback! We are researchers from MIT exploring the use of new auditory feedback modalities to help increase fluency for People Who Stutter (PWS). This app is a work in progress based on our research that aims to gather user feedback and better understand what aspects of the experience are most important for PWS. You can use the app by yourself for speech training or during discussion. Feel free to explore the different modes and presets to find the least distracting and more efficient for you. If you believe you start habituating to one mode after a few hours/days, try switching to a different mode. To use the app, you need wired headphones/earbuds with an embedded microphone. Do not attempt to connect it on Bluetooth or speaker as it may create a feedback effect. Note that this approach does not intend to cure or fix stuttering. Stuttering is a very complex condition, still not completely understood by the research community, and it comes with influential social and identity-forging elements. Our goal through distributing this app is to gather feedback from potential users to help improve the science and research on stuttering. Please be aware that the research is ongoing, and Musically Modulated Auditory Feedback might not work for all users. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us at mumblemelody@mit.edu.

Stop being held back by your stutter. Bloombird is a warm, judgment-free companion for adults who stutter. Not a program to get through — a place to come back to, a few minutes a day. It isn't about speaking perfectly. It's about not letting your stutter decide what you do, who you talk to, or what you say. Bloombird brings together the three things that actually help — your mindset, practical technique, and daily practice — with Sally, your AI companion, there whenever you need her. SHIFT YOUR MINDSET Understand why you stutter, find language for the moments you choose to share, and face feared situations at your own pace. LEARN REAL TECHNIQUES Easy onset, preparatory sets, pull-outs and more — the approaches speech pathologists use, broken into five-minute guided sessions. PRACTICE OUT LOUD Read aloud and rehearse the moments that matter — a coffee order, a phone call, a tough conversation. No silence cut-offs: you tap when you're done. Sally never asks you to repeat yourself. TALK TO SALLY, ANYTIME The Nest is your space to think things through — no judgment, no waiting room, no appointment. TRACK WHAT MATTERS No fluency scores. No words-per-minute. Just the question that counts: did stuttering hold you back today? BUILT BY SOMEONE WHO STUTTERS Created by Daniel, who has stuttered for over 20 years. Designed by someone who knows what it feels like — no jargon, no being treated like a problem to solve. Try Bloombird free for 7 days.
