Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tracer at daily against Hodor's every 3 weeks. Tracer also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 73%). Hodor's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (23 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Hodor holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hodor has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Hodor's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tracer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Hodor ships an update every 3 weeks, Tracer daily. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
