About

EmberApp

The EmberApp was created to help people with disabilities prepare for emergency situations, particularly fire. The creation of the App, and the wider EMBER project, is in direct response to the 2019/2020 summer bushfires where 80% of the Shoalhaven region was burned or impacted. Feedback from two Australian Royal Commissions into bushfires and the disability sector also identified the need for emergency preparedness in the disability sector.Ā  Ā  Key users of the App will be people living with disability, their carers, family members and wider support networks. The App allows individuals to store important information on phones or devices in case of evacuation.Ā  It includes what to bring, how to go, where to stay and who to contact.Ā  These items are important for individuals living with mobility and anxiety issues along with individuals who require medical appliances and life-sustaining medications. Ā  The App is created using Plain English for greater accessibility, covering information on bushfires, emergency agencies, evacuation points and news sources.Ā  Communication Boards are also provided for those who are non-verbal. App participants will also receive a backpack that contains basic items and a checklist covering what to take in emergencies.Ā  Ā  Privacy Policy https://www.flagstaffgroup.com.au/Handlers/Download.ashx?IDMF=6aa5ad9e-eefc-4d40-b4d2-07b57f37cad7 Ā  Terms & Conditions Terms and Conditions | The Flagstaff Group Limited

ExpressMe Communicator is a dedicated Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app designed to bridge the communication gap for individuals with speech impairments and intellectual disabilities. Built with empathy and accessibility at its core, our mission is to give everyone a voice — regardless of age or ability. Whether for a young child learning to express basic needs, an adult navigating daily interactions, or a senior recovering from stroke or aphasia, ExpressMe provides an intuitive, touch-based interface that translates thoughts into clear, spoken communication. FREE TO COMMUNICATE ExpressMe believes communication is a right, not a premium. The complete AAC experience — 200+ symbols across 10 categories, text-to-speech, swipe navigation, and animated transitions — is completely free. No trial, no feature walls. Advanced caregiver tools are available as a one-time $9.99 Pro upgrade. No subscription. DESIGNED FOR PEACE OF MIND We know caregivers need confidence that the app — and the device — will stay exactly as configured: • Password-Protected Admin Mode: All vocabulary editing and settings are locked behind a secure admin password. Users interact only with the communication interface. • Kiosk-Ready Design: Pair with iOS Guided Access to lock the device entirely into ExpressMe. Step-by-step setup instructions included. • Keep Screen Awake: Prevents the device from dimming or sleeping during communication sessions. • Factory Reset Protection: Only an authenticated administrator can reset the app, protecting vocabulary from accidental deletion. BUILT FOR COMMUNICATION • 200+ Ready-to-Use Symbols: Start communicating immediately with rich built-in vocabulary organized into 10 intuitive categories. • Adjustable Card Sizes: Four options — Small, Normal, Large, and Extra Large — for users with different visual acuity and motor skills. • Swipe Between Categories: Glide through categories with smooth transitions. Choose instant switching, a 2D slide, or a 3D cube effect. • Instant Text-to-Speech: Tap symbols to build sentences, then press Speak. Speech fires instantly — zero delay — with a visual pulse synchronized to the audio. • Customizable Cards (Pro): Create and organize custom symbols using photos from the camera or library. • Adaptive Grid Layouts: Grid sizing adjusts automatically to your selected card size, filling the screen without gaps. • Hide & Manage Symbols (Pro): Hide irrelevant symbols to reduce clutter — invisible in communication mode, easily restored in admin mode. PRIVATE & OFFLINE Works entirely offline — no internet required. All data stays on the device. No accounts, no cloud, no tracking. ACCESSIBLE BY DESIGN Full VoiceOver support. Extra Large card sizes for users with low vision or limited motor control. UNIVERSAL COMPATIBILITY Optimized for iPad and iPhone, ExpressMe ensures communication is always within reach — at home, in the classroom, at therapy, or on the go. Communication is a fundamental human right. Let ExpressMe Communicator help you and your loved ones connect, understand, and be understood.
