The Accessibility Handbook is a guide into the iOS accessibility world! Learn how to use accessibility features and options with games, and learn how to implement them with documentations based in real-life experiences. Accessibility is a huge theme, specially in iOS, but it's always hard to find exactly what you need (unless you know what you are looking for). So we made this: An easy way to find this content, to search for it, to learn about it. Lightweight, fast, and always available. • The Handbook Game A series of puzzles that can only be solved by using accessibility tools (or a combination of them!) • The Voice-Over Guide A growing guide of how to improve your visual impairment accessibility using the Voice-Over, with examples and code. • The Colors Guide Here you'll learn more about colors, how to use them on your apps, and, of course, how to keep everything accessible to everyone. • Others Guide Accessibility is not only restricted to Voice-Over and Colors. Here we'll approach other things that can make your apps even better for everyone!

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Accessibility Handbook at 5.0 against ScreenReader's 4.2. Accessibility Handbook also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 8 months) and iOS requirement (15.4 vs 17.0). ScreenReader's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Accessibility Handbook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScreenReader has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
ScreenReader ships an update every 8 months, Accessibility Handbook every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
