Parental controls for iPhone and iPad that you run from your own phone: pause apps, set screen time limits and bedtimes, block social media and websites that aren't safe for kids, and get an alert when your kid arrives at places like school. Built on Apple's Screen Time technology, KidWall runs on your child's device and is approved with your Apple Account so it can't simply be deleted. You pick the apps to block, limit or allow once on your kid's device, then pause, give extra time and change limits, bedtime and websites from your phone. FROM YOUR PHONE • A card for each kid's device shows at a glance whether apps are open, paused, at bedtime or out of time for today • Pause all apps instantly — for dinner, homework or bedtime • Give extra time from their card, or answer your kid's request for more time with one tap • Change the daily limit, bedtime (a different one each night if you like) and website filtering remotely • Get alerts when a limit is reached, bedtime starts, or your kid tries to open something blocked, and see recent ones in Activity • See your kid's device on a map (when you turn location on) • Get an alert when your kid arrives at or leaves places you set, like home or school ON YOUR KID'S DEVICE • Block apps and whole categories 24/7 — social media, games, anything you choose • A daily limit on the apps you choose, with a warning before time runs out • Bedtime: everything off except the apps you allow • Web filter: Apple's website filter, KidWall's built-in lists of social media and other websites that aren't safe for kids, and sites you add; other browsers are hidden so they can't be used to get around it • Prevents deleting apps, in-app purchases and passcode or account changes, and turns on Apple's content restrictions for music, podcasts and books • An "Ask for more time" button sends the request straight to you BOTH PARENTS Add a second parent phone with the same family code — you both see the same kids and get the same alerts. EASY SETUP Step-by-step setup on your kid's device: approve with your Apple Account, choose starting rules, set a parent PIN and scan a code on your phone to connect. A checklist on your phone shows what's left and helps you fix it. Your child needs a child Apple Account in your Family Sharing group. HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT Help & guides explain what KidWall can and can't do, and our game & chat safety guides show where popular games and apps keep their own parent controls. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your kids' names, rules, locations and alerts are encrypted with your family code before they leave the device. We can't read them, and neither can anyone without your code. No ads, no tracking, no reading messages. KIDWALL PREMIUM Remote control, alerts, location, place alerts and multi-parent control require KidWall Premium. Choose monthly or yearly; each starts with a 7-day free trial. One subscription covers your Family Sharing group. Without Premium, kids' devices keep enforcing their current rules. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at the end of the free trial unless you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: KidWall at 100% against Impactyn's 33%. KidWall also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days). Impactyn's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KidWall sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Impactyn asks for nothing beyond the download.
Impactyn holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Impactyn has 166 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Impactyn's written reviews are positive against 100% of KidWall's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Impactyn ships an update every 8 days, KidWall every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
