Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: USGA at 22K against Rose Hill Golf's 18. USGA also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Rose Hill Golf's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Rose Hill Golf holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: USGA has 22K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two.
USGA ships an update every 3 weeks, Rose Hill Golf every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
