Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Links Rover at 100% against USGA's 37%. Links Rover also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). USGA's advantage is ratings volume (22K vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Links Rover holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: USGA has 22K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 37% of USGA's written reviews are positive against 100% of Links Rover's.
USGA ships an update every 3 weeks, Links Rover fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
