Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: AH Pro at 4.2 against Pivlite Preview's 2.2. AH Pro also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 56%) and ratings volume (66 vs 13). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AH Pro sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Pivlite Preview sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
AH Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AH Pro has 66 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of AH Pro's written reviews are positive against 56% of Pivlite Preview's.
AH Pro ships an update every 3 weeks, Pivlite Preview fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
