VEILWATCH Verify confirms who you are using the secure chip in your passport. You will only need this app if a government department or regulatory body has asked you to verify your identity. They send you a link or a QR code, and the app walks you through the check. There is nothing to sign up for and no account to create. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the link the organisation sent you. The app shows who is asking and what for, before you decide to continue. 2. Scan the bio page of your passport with your camera. 3. Hold your phone against the e-passport chip to read it. 4. Take a photo of your face. 5. Review exactly what will be sent, then send it. WHY THE CHIP MATTERS The chip in a modern passport is signed by the country that issued it. Reading it lets the service confirm the document is genuine and has not been altered — something no photograph of a passport page can establish on its own. The app checks the chip's signature against the issuing country's certificates, and confirms the chip is the original rather than a copy of its data. YOUR INFORMATION Your passport details and photographs are captured on your device and sent to the organisation that asked you to verify — and to no one else. Nothing is ever sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you. Reading the text on your passport page and finding your face in frame both happen on your phone. Once the organisation confirms it has received your verification, everything is erased. We keep no copies, and there is no database of faces or passport details. WHAT YOU NEED - A passport with a chip (look for the gold symbol on the cover) - An iPhone 7 or later running iOS 15.5 or later - A link or QR code from the organisation asking you to verify
