Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Wizened Finger at 4.4 against Nightreign Timer's 3.7. Wizened Finger also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (305 vs 3). Nightreign Timer's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 74%) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wizened Finger sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Nightreign Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Wizened Finger holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wizened Finger has 305 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Wizened Finger's written reviews are positive against 100% of Nightreign Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Wizened Finger ships an update every 2 weeks, Nightreign Timer every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
