I love riding to work. It's a freeing experience that pulls me away from the daily drag. The issue? Too many times did I get burnt by not studying the forecast well enough and getting rained on. Instead of enjoying my ride, I found myself cursing at the sky and stressed at work about if it'll clear up. But no more! My frustration and many others like me led me to build ShouldIRide. Users can select the weather parameters that they are comfortable riding in and be notified each day they choose, whether or not it's a good day to ride! The app is free! If you like riding, give it a shot and leave some feedback please! :)

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Element at 4.5 against ShouldIRide's 2.7. Element also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 18) and chart position (#105 vs unranked). ShouldIRide's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 19) and review sentiment (38% vs 24%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Element sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.95 per month. ShouldIRide asks for nothing beyond the download.
Element holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Element has 1.4K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of ShouldIRide's written reviews are positive against 24% of Element's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
ShouldIRide ships an update weekly, Element every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
