Chatta is specially designed to help families communicate with their elderly relatives who often struggle to use smartphones, tablets, or computers but are comfortable and familiar with the TV. The Chatta mobile app is free to download, and family members or friends can use it to message or video call an elderly relative who has a TV with the Chatta TV app embedded in it. Developed in partnership with LG, family ‘supporters’ can send text, photo and video messages from the Chatta app which pop up over their loved one’s TV without the need to change inputs or channels. Messages can’t be missed! And they receive a reassuring notification when the message has been read. Elderly TV users can access a Chatta menu allowing them to view a message history of past messages or a ‘media gallery’ containing just the photos or media attached to past messages. Packaged with an LG Ultra High Definition 4K Smart TV, Chatta is the first messaging and video chat application embedded in TV to bridge the digital divide and make it easier for families to stay in touch with their loved ones connecting generations with a technology everyone feels comfortable with.
