Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Tip Tally Tracker at 100% against Waiter Pal's 64%. Waiter Pal's advantage is ratings volume (796 vs 9) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Waiter Pal sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Tip Tally Tracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Waiter Pal holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Waiter Pal has 796 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Waiter Pal's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tip Tally Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Waiter Pal ships an update every 11 days, Tip Tally Tracker monthly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
