Metal Detector enables you to detect metal objects using your iOS devices. You can preview the magnetic field level through a graph and a 3D directional display. Metal Detector measures the magnetic field using the deviceβs built-in magnetic sensor. The natural magnetic field level (EMF) typically ranges from 25 to 65 Β΅T (microtesla), or 250 mG (milligauss). 1 Β΅T = 10 mG. Any reading above this range may indicate the presence of metal or a change in electromagnetic activity in the area. The magnetic field level increases when metal (such as steel or iron) is near the phone. Magnetic field levels will fluctuate as you move around. You can use this app to find metal objects like electrical wires in walls or iron pipes underground. Metal Detector is most effective at detecting ferromagnetic materials (e.g., iron) and cannot detect non-ferromagnetic materials such as wood, glass, plastic, paper, copper, or aluminum. Features: β’ Displays device orientation in 3D space using a compass. β’ 3D magnet icon enlarges as magnetic field strength increases. β’ Shows maximum detected magnetic field level. β’ Graph displays magnetic field level over time. β’ Screenshot functionality with saving to the camera roll. β’ 3D magnet orientation defaults to magnetic north, like a traditional compass. β’ Option to reset the maximum magnetic field value. β’ Sound notification when the maximum magnetic field level is reached. β’ Option to enable or disable sound notifications. Usage: β’ Detect metal objects such as electrical wires in walls or buried iron pipes. β’ Identify objects that may or may not be metal. β’ Monitor magnetic field level changes in specific areas (e.g., when approaching large metal structures). β’ Some users believe it may detect paranormal activity (use at your own discretion). β’ And much moreβlimited only by your imagination! You can also record your screen for reference: β’ Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls, then tap the + next to Screen Recording. β’ Open Control Center. β’ Tap the Screen Recording icon (circle with a dot inside) to start recording. β’ The recording begins after a 3-second countdown. β’ To stop, tap the red status bar or red icon. β’ The screen recording will be saved in Photos for later viewing. Note: Magnetic field readings may be affected by nearby electronic equipment (TVs, computers, microwaves) due to electromagnetic interference. Thank you for your support! Physics Lab is all-in-one Sensor app which let you know physical entities around you like acceleration, magnetic fields, light intensity, sound decibel and much more... Physics Lab measures physical parameters by using your device sensors which typical device contain bunch of those sensors! Application give output in high precision with short intervals based on your sensor's capabilities. In Physics Lab, you can observe physical data in coordinates (X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis) or in scalar magnitude. If you want, you can export sensor data into Excel by one click! Using export to excel feature you can obtain statistical information about your measurement. Physical quantities that can be measured Physics Lab: * Accelerometer: Measuring acceleration around your device. Output in m/s2 for x, y and z axes. Also, you can eliminate gravity from your measurements by one click and see real acceleration. * Magnetometer: Measuring magnetic field around your device. Output in Β΅T for x, y and z axes. * Gyroscope: Measure angular inclination in x, y and z axes. Output in degree (Β°) * Luxmeter: COMING SOON * Barometer: Measure atmospheric pressure. Output in bar. * Noisemeter: Measure loudness around you. Output in dB. If you like our application, you can give us 5 stars. Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Physics Labs at Free against Metal Detector 3D Plus's $2.99. Physics Labs also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 38 months). Metal Detector 3D Plus's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
