Connected to applications such as CoMo or Koral, the smartphone becomes a gestural musical instrument, enabling sounds to be triggered and modified by movement. Setting the WiFi network parameters is made easy by using a QR code generated by the application. The CoMote application can be used with any software that uses the OSC protocol or Websockets. CoMote is being developed by the Interaction-Sound-Music-Movement team at IRCAM (STMS-lab Ircam - CNRS - Sorbonne University) in partnership with the association Arts Convergences. With the support of : Fondation MAAF, Fondation Falret, Département des Yvelines, and the Afnic Foundation (Fondation de France). Still blocks animated images and motion effects in Safari, giving you a calm, static browsing experience. What it blocks: • Animated GIFs — replaced with a static placeholder. Includes GIFs served via image-proxy URLs (Next.js, Cloudinary) and cross-origin CDNs that often slip past simpler blockers • Animated WebP and APNG — detected by inspecting file headers; static images display normally • Script-driven animation — text and images that zoom, slide or fade in as a page loads, and scroll-driven effects on marketing sites, appear in their final position instead of moving there • Sliding carousels and smooth-scroll jumps — image strips and "back to top" buttons land instantly • CSS transitions and animations, including subtle ones (crossfades, opacity pulses, sliding banners) and those inside web components • SVG animations and CSS background-image animations • Autoplaying video — videos stay paused until you press play • Per-site rule pack — sites with known animation patterns get tailored protection without breaking the rest of the page What it doesn't break: • Static images (JPEG, PNG, SVG, WebP) display normally • Page layout and functionality are preserved • Per-site allowlist lets you enable animations on sites you trust • Global on/off toggle in the extension popup Built for people with vestibular sensitivities, migraine triggers, or anyone who just wants the web to hold still. Still runs entirely on-device. No data is collected, transmitted, or stored.
