Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Modnar at none against Shows's shown. Modnar also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Shows's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (22 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Modnar holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shows has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Shows ships an update every 6 weeks, Modnar every 6 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
