Their cedar post and log business was eventually sold to their son, Roger Hayes, who moved it just south of Wiarton where it operated for 25+ years. Renamed Hayes Timber, Roger grew the business to include cedar mulch which he produced using the by-product from his peeled cedar posts. Today, Roger works alongside his son-in-law, Dan, who has taken Hayes Timber Inc. into a new generation.
