Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Cinder at 77 against Calm Leaf's 9. Calm Leaf's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 90%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Calm Leaf against 4.1 for Cinder. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cinder has 77 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Calm Leaf's written reviews are positive against 90% of Cinder's.
