Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Cove holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cove has 261 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Cove's written reviews are positive against 100% of Moving Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cove ships an update every 2 weeks, Moving Notes weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
