Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Universal Widget at 100% against Locknload's 50%. Locknload's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Universal Widget sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Locknload sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Locknload holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 182 and 74 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Universal Widget's written reviews are positive against 50% of Locknload's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Universal Widget ships an update every 3 weeks, Locknload weekly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
