Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: Anker Power at none against Coverage Map's shown. Anker Power also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Coverage Map's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Coverage Map holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.4K and 798 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Anker Power's written reviews are positive against 68% of Coverage Map's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
