Snippets is an all-new social media app that's unlike any other social media app. By asking random questions throughout the day, visible only to your friends, Snippets hopes to create an environment where you can learn more about your friends, even if sometimes it's some random things, and have real discussions about others' answers to the questions. Snippets' goal is not to keep you on the app the longest or make you see a ton of ads, its goal is to show how social media can be beneficial and to strengthen friendships. How does Snippets work? At three random times throughout the day, you will get a notification for a new snippet (question). You have to answer the snippet before viewing your friend's responses. Your responses to these snippets are always only visible to your friends. You can join discussions in a chat like manner in response to your friends responses if you have anything you would like to say about their response. What are Anonymous Snippets? One Anonymous Snippet is sent once a week at a random time. The question is usually more "private", or something you might not feel comfortable sharing to your friends, but in anonymity you are okay with sharing. These snippets are completely anonymous, no one gets a notification when you answer the snippet and all names are replaced with "Anonymous". Is there anything else to Snippets? Of course there is! On the Monday of every week, the snippet of the week opens up to the public. The snippet of the week is usually a topic question that you answer something in that topic, for example, if the snippet of the week was "Book of the Week", one answer might be "Lord of the Rings". Your answer is visible to everyone and can be seen on your profile. You have until Saturday morning to answer the snippet of the week and then voting begins. You have about a day and a half to vote on what you think the best answer is, whether that be the funniest answer, most relatable, or some other determinant that you decide on. Once voting is over, the top 3 are decided and results are visible for about 16 hours. So what's next? In the future, I plan on adding a system where at the start of the week, you get paired up with someone random who isn't your friend and throughout the week you can see their responses to snippets as if they were your friend. This would be a great way to meet new people and see how unique everyone is.
