Variometer+ vs BMK Finder

Variometer+ is the most responsive variometer for your iPhone or/and Apple Watch. Works for all activities (paragliding, hang gliding, aviation, ...). • Super reactive / responsive thanks to a very advanced algorithm • Beeps like a real variometer (or haptic feedback on your wrist) • Shows ground speed & altitude (sea level & relative to take-off) • Sink alarm • Entirely configurable (settings sync with Apple Watch through iCloud) • Choose among several gauges • Change units (m/s, ft/min, ...) • Customize beeps tresholds • Customize gauge max & min values based on your activity • Customize the sound of your vario (frequency, cadence, ...) for maximum comfort • Independent Apple Watch app (sound, haptic feedback, ...) → everything on your wrist • ... and more Use at your own risk. The creator cannot be held responsible for any issue that might arise. Common sense should prevail. Fly safe! This app respects your privacy and does not collect any data. Feedback is welcome and appreciated, you can contact me from within the app :-). Please be nice with me ;-). About the algorithm: This variometer is not an ordinary app. To provide this level of responsiveness, a very advanced mathematical technique is being used. This is called ‘Sensor fusion’. It uses data from multiple sensors of your devices, and combines them to increase accuracy and responsiveness. This has been developed in collaboration with researchers from the university of UCLouvain in Belgium. Because of the efficiency, hence complexity, of the algorithm, a great amount of computational power is required. This is why, based on the tests, the advanced level of responsiveness is only available on recent devices. The app still works - but is less responsive - on older devices though. Enjoy! --------- The terms of use & privacy policy can be found here: https://variometer.app/terms-and-privacy.html

Track, hear and find your model aircraft. BMK Model Locator is the companion app for the BMK FlexiDisplay GPS locator system, including the new FlexiDisplay Yello hand unit. This app is not standalone. It needs a BMK FlexiDisplay hand unit and BMK GPS beacons. The hand unit receives your beacons by radio and passes their data to your phone over Bluetooth Low Energy. NEW: VOICE ALERTS Keep your eyes on the sky. The app speaks the important things in a clear British English voice, works without mobile data and keeps talking with the screen locked. • Warnings for beacon battery, signal lost and regained, GPS lost or weak, weak radio signal and hand unit disconnection • "Model stationary" when your model has landed or come down • Maximum altitude announced at the top of each climb • Optional periodic callouts of altitude, climb rate and distance • One-tap status readout: altitude, distance and battery SEARCH MODE Walk straight to a landed model. Every few seconds, the app tells you where the model is as a clock position relative to the way you hold your phone, plus the distance. For example: "Model at 2 o'clock, 120 metres". It also tells you whether you are getting closer or moving away. Search mode uses the last known position, so it keeps guiding you even after the signal is lost. LIVE TRACKING • Real-time beacon positions on an interactive map • Map rotates with your compass heading, with a searchlight showing where you are facing • Satellite and street map sources • Last known position kept when a beacon loses GPS • Automatic reconnection to your hand unit FLIGHT ANALYSIS • Flight path recording with Excel export • Altitude profile with maximum altitude, climb and descent rates • Compare any two points for time, altitude change, vertical speed and distance • Download flight logs saved on the FlexiDisplay Yello DEVICE CONTROL • Set radio channel, RDT code and device name from your phone • Update FlexiDisplay firmware wirelessly from the app DESIGNED FOR THE FIELD • High-contrast, colour-blind friendly design for bright sunlight • Metric and imperial units
