Qubo is a speedcubing timer that stays out of the way. Long-press to ready it, release to start, then tap anywhere on the screen to stop — no aiming for a small button while the clock is running. COMPETITION SCRAMBLES Scrambles for 3×3, 2×2 and Pyraminx are drawn at random from every state the puzzle can reach — the same standard used at official competitions. 4×4 and Windmill get random-move scrambles with redundant turns filtered out. Tap the scramble to see it as a full sequence of moves. SESSION STATS See how a practice run actually went: your personal best, a trend line across the session, and Ao5 and Ao12 averages for each puzzle. Every solve is kept with the scramble it was given and any +2 or DNF, stored on your device. PERSONAL BESTS Each puzzle tracks its own record, and your bests follow you across devices through iCloud. New records get the celebration they deserve. PUZZLES 3×3 is free, always. 2×2, 4×4, Windmill and Pyraminx each unlock with a one-time purchase — no subscriptions, ever. Curious about a locked puzzle? Watch a short video to earn free solves and try it before you buy. Whether you're learning your first algorithm or chasing sub-10, Qubo gives you competition-grade timing without the clutter.

Suck at cubing? Me too. So I wrote an app to help memorize full CFOP and improve my recognition time. I've gotten a lot better because of it and I hope it can help you too. How do I use it? However you want. I use it daily to learn and drill algorithms. Compare and contrast similar-looking cases. Time my solves in a variety of ways (metronome, casual, semi-blind). And jot down any notes. Why are some of your algorithms slow? That's just the way I learned them and it's hard to unlearn things. Good news though, you can easily change them to your liking or create entire collections. Does your timer use the official WCA scrambler? Not right now. It's a simplified method that is good enough for practice. It basically picks a random face, rotates it a random amount, picks another face, and repeats it 20 times. What is an alias? The solution for a T-Perm is (R U R' U') (R' F R) (R U' R' U') (R U R' F'). Using aliases, that can be shortened to 6 3 8 5. Much easier to memorize. Other cubers think I'm weird, but it works for me.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Cuber App at none against Qubo's 5. Cuber App also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 75%). Qubo's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On price and device support there is nothing between them.
