AngioAID 3D is educational tool designed to teach key concepts of diagnostic angiography of coronary arteries. Developed at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, New York State's highest volume cardiac cath lab, we aim to provide an interactive learning experience on this important topic. Within a 3D live simulation, you begin by advancing a diagnostic guidewire into the aortic root. Then, advance one of many diagnostic catheter options to either the right of left coronary ostium. Through pushing and pulling, as well as rotation of the catheter, try to achieve a truly co-axial engagement of the coronary ostium with the catheter. Meanwhile monitor the hemodynamic tab which simulated damping from over-engagement or roofing of the catheter tip. Line up the view with the target view, zoom to fill the screen with he coronaries, and rotate the C-Arm LAO/RAO and Cranial/Caudal until you're where you think you need to be. Finally, inject dye and take a cine to compare with the one we actually did in the cath lab for this set of coronaries. In addition to the diagnostic simulation, "Review Mode" allows you to play with angles and panning while always being able to see the vessels with no dye injection needed. Also a collection of key topics have been included within the review mode such as key angiographic angles depending on what you're aiming to see clearly, vessel segmentation conventions, and more coronary anatomy and angiography pearls. We highly recommend you view the tutorial video that is available when you first open the application or from the settings page to understand all of the available functions. The first launch has a normal set of coronary arteries but please stay tuned while we create more sets of coronaries such as anomalous coronaries and bypass grafts.

About

AngioView

This application simulates coronary angiography, allowing users to practice visualizing the coronary tree from different C-arm angles. It provides an interactive 3D model of the heart to understand how views change without patient involvement or radiation exposure.

Highlights
  • Interactive C-arm movement
  • Standard view selection
  • Left/right coronary artery study
  • Dominant anatomy switching
  • Segment highlighting
  • Offline functionality

AngioView is a free 3D simulator for learning coronary angiography. It's meant for cardiology fellows, cath lab nurses and techs, interventional cardiologists, and anyone interested in coronary anatomy! One of the hardest parts of cardiology fellowship is building a 3D map of the coronary arteries in your head, and knowing how it turns when the view goes cranial or caudal, LAO or RAO. AngioView lets you practice that on an anatomical model, with no patient on the table and no radiation. It is the tool I would have loved to have in fellowship. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Move the C-arm yourself: drag the image, use the rotation and angulation controls, or drag the C-arm in the room • Go straight to any standard view, such as the spider, RAO caudal or LAO cranial • Study the left coronary, the right coronary, or both • Switch between right-dominant, left-dominant and co-dominant anatomy, with or without a ramus intermedius • Turn on segment names and colors, on the angiogram and on the 3D heart • Pick a segment and see which angles show it with the least foreshortening and overlap • See where the detector sits in every view • Works offline. No account, no ads, no tracking. WHO IT IS FOR Cardiology fellows, interventional cardiologists, residents, cath-lab nurses and technologists, students, and anyone curious about how a coronary angiogram is read. GOOD TO KNOW AngioView shows one generic, normal coronary tree, with no patient cases and no stenoses. The anatomy is built from openly published datasets and measurements, all credited in the app. AngioView is an educational simulation. It is not a medical device and must not be used for diagnosis, treatment or any clinical decision.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: AngioView at 5.0 against AngioAID 3D's 4.0. AngioView also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 28 months). AngioAID 3D's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

AngioView holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AngioView has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

AngioAID 3D ships an update every 28 months, AngioView every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
