Who your phone talked to, how often, and when, including while it sat locked in your pocket overnight. • The company, not the domain. 5,000+ companies on record, each traced to its owner, so an innocent-looking hostname shows up as the ad network it belongs to. • What they do. Advertising, analytics, attribution, fingerprinting, data brokerage, or the delivery and sign-in services an app genuinely needs. • Exposures. Traffic sent in plain text that anyone on the same Wi-Fi could read, broken ciphers still on offer, key exchanges without the quantum-safe protection iOS itself now offers, site names sent in the open. WHAT THE FIREWALL DOES • Restrict a company. One switch blocks every name it owns, across every app on the phone. Meta is six names. Google is hundreds.
