Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: RULEIT at none against Budget Zero's 3. RULEIT also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (32 vs 6). Budget Zero's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 11 days). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Budget Zero sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. RULEIT asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

RULEIT holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RULEIT has 32 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of RULEIT's written reviews are positive against 75% of Budget Zero's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

RULEIT ships an update every 11 days, Budget Zero every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
