Sayla

Sayla is a language learning app where you learn by speaking, not tapping. Learn English, German or Arabic by talking out loud to an AI coach who calls you on the phone, answers you in a real voice, and helps you fix your mistakes as you go. GET STRONG, STEP BY STEP You do not jump in at the deep end. You start at A1 and move up through A2 to B1, one small unit at a time. There are 90 units and over 1,600 exercises, so there is always a clear next step. FOUR THINGS, EVERY DAY - Speak - say it out loud, and Sayla tells you how you did - Listen - hear the pronunciation the way a real person says it - Read - short sentences you will actually use - New words - a few each day, and old ones come back before you forget them TALK TO SAYLA, FOR REAL This is the part that changes things. Sayla calls you, and you have a real conversation. Order food. Introduce yourself. Talk about your job. Every one of the 90 units has its own call. You can get it wrong here. Nobody is watching. That is why it stops being scary outside. SMALL EXERCISES THAT FIT A REAL DAY Lessons are 7 questions, not 10. Get one wrong and it comes back at the end, so you finish only when you can say it right yourself. Five minutes on a busy day is enough. IT FEELS LIKE A GAME A path to move along. Hearts to protect. Gems to spend. A streak to keep. And 20 fairies to collect along the way. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED Open it and start. No sign up, no email, no password. Your progress stays on your phone. Speak it, listen to it, and talk it through with Sayla. Little by little, it starts to feel easy.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Sayla at none against Cursive's shown. Cursive's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cursive sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sayla sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
