Intervalia
Read full descriptionHide full description
Intervalia is a musical ear trainer. The app plays two notes and you name the interval between them - from unison to octave, ascending, descending or played together. Real instruments. Intervals are played on a concert grand piano and an acoustic guitar - recordings of real instruments, not a synthesizer. Choose one or more octaves for the interval, or let the app pick. Every answer explained. After you answer, the interval is shown on the staff, on the keyboard or guitar fretboard, and with note names. Listen to the interval again, or tap any key or fret to hear it on its own. 17 levels. The course goes from contrasting intervals to the most similar ones: first ascending, then descending and harmonic. Earn up to three stars on every level. All levels are open from the start. Custom practice. Pick the intervals, direction, instrument and octave you need and practice as long as you like. Intervals you miss more often come up more often. Statistics. Accuracy for every interval and direction shows what comes easily and what needs more work. Made for everyone. The app works with the largest text sizes, VoiceOver, Bold Text and Reduce Motion, in light and dark mode, in portrait and landscape. Available in English and Russian. Honest. Free, no ads, no sign-up — every feature is available from the start. If the app helps you, you can thank the developer with an optional tip; it doesn't unlock anything. The app collects no data.

Intervalia's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 months). On price there is nothing between them.
