nGeneMediaPlayer is a local audio and video player for waveform navigation, repeat practice, playlist organization, Apple Watch remote control, Watch Face current-media display, and educational signal analysis. IMPORT, PLAYBACK, AND ORGANIZATION • Import supported media from Files or Photos • On iPad and Mac, import multiple files or a top-level folder • Local audio and video playback with paused-on-open behavior • Waveform seeking, A–B looping, repeat, speed, and volume gain controls • Save an A–B range as a separate local clip • Fullscreen video playback and Light Mode • Favorites, custom playlists, rename, multi-select deletion, and several sorting modes • Refresh Library support for media transferred through Finder or iTunes file sharing • iPad-optimized wide-screen layout and standard or neon accent-color presets APPLE WATCH COMPANION • Remote play/pause, seeking, previous/next navigation, and A–B loop adjustment • Watch waveform seeking and loop editing when waveform data is available • Swipe gestures for short seek and media navigation • Small Watch Face complication for the current title and compact waveform slice • Adjustable complication-title scrolling • iPhone Light Mode and Analysis Mode reflected on the Watch interface WAVEFORM AND SIGNAL STUDY • Tempo, level, frequency, pitch, stereo, and signal-band summaries • Bass, mid, and treble envelope and energy views • Reader-style educational notes and applied analysis panels • Structural, time-frequency, spectral-envelope, acoustic-path, temporal, system, sampling, DFT, sinusoidal, and spectral-trough study chapters • Manual or Automatic chapter-analysis launch ICA STUDIO, ICA+, AND ICA MIXED PAIR • ICA Studio creates controlled source mixtures and a fixed FastICA Control • ICA+ evaluates experimental modules against the same Control and original references • Auto mode ranks modules separately; Manual mode combines selected modules • Similarity reports include SI-SDR, correlation, envelope, spectral-trough, leakage, residual-error, and visual trace evidence • ICA Mixed Pair addresses a practical two-recording use case: two nearly simultaneous electronic-stethoscope recordings acquired at two auscultation sites • A discovered pair requires exactly two files with the same YYMMDD_XXX filename prefix • The workflow estimates the recording-start offset, aligns the shared interval, and applies FastICA to estimate cardiac-like and respiratory-like sound components • Results are presented as two unlabeled independent components with cautious acoustic interpretations, playback, waveforms, and comparison evidence • A bundled demonstration pair permits review without external recordings ICA Mixed Pair represents the practical objective that motivated much of the supporting import, synchronization, waveform, and comparison infrastructure. Only a limited group may require this workflow, but specialized work can make a meaningful contribution; the feature is therefore made publicly available. The ICA workspaces and signal-analysis panels are intended for signal-processing education, listening practice, and research-oriented review. Cardiac-like and respiratory-like estimates are experimental acoustic interpretations, not clinical identification. The app does not provide medical diagnosis, clinical evaluation, treatment advice, or physiological decision-making. The Mikio Tohyama study sections are independent educational reinterpretations of general waveform-analysis concepts associated with Waveform Analysis of Sound. They are not an official translation, quotation, or reproduction of the book. Imported media and analysis results remain local on the device. No account, sign-in, server connection, or app-managed cloud synchronization is required.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: nGeneMediaPlayer at none against LockNotes's shown. nGeneMediaPlayer also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months) and device support (3 vs 1). LockNotes's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
