Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MouseHero at 5.0 against Tracepad's 4.3. MouseHero also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 69%). Tracepad's advantage is ratings volume (16 vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 6 days). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tracepad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and MouseHero sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
MouseHero holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tracepad has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Tracepad's written reviews are positive against 100% of MouseHero's.
Tracepad ships an update every 3 days, MouseHero every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
