Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: SWIPTV at 72% against GAMMA IPTV PLAYER's 27%. SWIPTV also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). GAMMA IPTV PLAYER's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 8) and rating (4.6 vs 4.2). On price and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. SWIPTV sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. GAMMA IPTV PLAYER asks for nothing beyond the download.
GAMMA IPTV PLAYER holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GAMMA IPTV PLAYER has 822 ratings behind it against 124, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of SWIPTV's written reviews are positive against 27% of GAMMA IPTV PLAYER's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
SWIPTV ships an update weekly, GAMMA IPTV PLAYER every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
