BioSeal Reader is a universal application for reading and validating Visible Digital Seals (VDS) compliant with the requirements of Otentik trust network. The application allows users to verify 2D barcodes (Datamatrix and QR Code) meeting ISO 22376 standard, Otentik network extensions and BioSeal extensions. It is also compatible with 2D-Doc, the previous generation of VDS. The code encapsulates key data from a document according to the associated use case. These are electronically signed, allowing the BioSeal Reader to detect any tampering, confirm the authenticity of the data and the legitimacy of the issuer. The application displays the encoded information in a readable format, using one of the languages defined by the use case. Verifying a BioSeal is as easy and natural as taking a picture. When biometric verification is required, the app can also take a picture of the holder to check his/her legitimacy. This app lets you read data from passports and compatible ID cards using your iPhone. It works by scanning the machine-readable zone (MRZ) with the camera and, if available, reading the document’s NFC chip to access additional information such as the embedded photo. The app does not perform identity verification or authentication. It simply reads and displays document data for the user. All scanning is initiated by the user. Document data is processed on the device and is not stored or shared by the app. Supported documents include ICAO-compliant passports and ID cards that contain an NFC chip.
