Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: EVP at 5.0 against EBMX's 4.2. EBMX's advantage is ratings volume (12 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
EVP holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EBMX has 12 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
EBMX ships an update every 3 weeks, EVP monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
