Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RUNNER at 100% against WalkMining's 17%. WalkMining's advantage is rating (3.6 vs 3.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 5). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RUNNER sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. WalkMining asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

WalkMining holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WalkMining has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of RUNNER's written reviews are positive against 17% of WalkMining's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

RUNNER ships an update every 3 weeks, WalkMining fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 9, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
